A superleggera DB4 in the corner of a car park? You win this thread, Rocky!

It's so desirable...

Rocky ,

Bet that’s rare in the US of A.

Not sure why but I prefer the lines of a pure DB4.

Great colour & condition …

The owner had a very cool story about this car….

Apparently his father saw it in disrepair back in the late 70s, and was interested, but decided it was way too much of a project for him to take on. So he passed on the car.

Unbeknownst to him, his wife called the shop, made a deal for the car, and kept shoveling money to the shop to get the restoration completed. On the owner’s father’s 50th birthday in 1982, she presented him with the restored car as a birthday present.

It has been in the family ever since!

Heartwarming!

Rocky

(Except I’d be a little curious as to where those £50,000 quids (equivalent) went to over those couple of years…. But maybe she was independently wealthy!)

I thought for a second you were showing off your cool running Jensen - then I looked at the oil pressure gauge. Guess you switched off to take the picture.

There’s no getting away from traffic hold ups - even in New Zealand!

Here on the "big island" we don't seem to have De Tomaso's on the road. Last one I saw was a Mangusta on the racetrack!

Ha ha - no. I’d only started the car about 10 min before the photo, and my oil pressure gauge takes about 20 mins to show normal pressure.
