Hi Steve et all,

What a great idea, nothing I really need to do on the car (famous last words!!) but I'll come along and have a poke about and no doubt spend some money with Mr. Brooks... (I can always be Zac's bacon frying assistant!!)

Cheers,
Steve H.

Like Neil Brookes I would be interested to learn some basics on tuning the engine for maximum fuel consumption.

A very exciting prospect.

I've had a kit to install central locking on my MK3 Int for nearly a year but never quite got around to doing it........
I got my extra locking solenoids/push-rod etc. from Andy Brooks @ Appleyard, obtained the remote system as recomended by, I think, the Monday Club, also got the new brackets and screws etc. but being colour-blind, I haven't yet dared to install it and connect everything up!
Perhaps this is a mod that others might be interested in seeing installed????????

Regards, Martin.

Jill

Wow that is a first, normally people ask to get there car tuned for minimum fuel consumption.

Well if maximum is what you want I am sure we can oblige. Would you like single figures consumption?

Joking aside Jill do you have overalls and the tools required? Some specialist tools will be available but you should bring your tool box with you.

I have a nice new 1/8" drill bit we can run through the main jets, fine tuning can be done with the choke flap.

You'll be busy, then, Mark!

Remember, the idea of the day is that you work on your car, using your own tools, and (if a specialised job) the parts that you have brought along.

The technical guys will be there to offer advice, but they will not do the job for you. That is your job!

Should be a great day!
I guess that rules out the likelihood of the ASBO getting an entire paint respray then

I'm no stranger to minimum fuel consumptions Steve, so any extra miles I could eek out of it would be gratefully received. Filling stations are as rare as hens teeth around here, unbelievably expensive and I begrudge every penny that goes to the taxman, rant over.

Thank you for your concern over my preparedness I shall of course bring my pinny and my tools will be in my tool basket!

What specialist tools are we talking about by the way? And is there anything I should read in readyness?
