Re: SP at H&H auction 131-4913 REA 45L
The lack of an engine is not mentioned anywhere in the lengthy auction notes by the aptly named Mr. Cheetham.Peter Rothery wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 7:47 am ..one major component seems to be missing from the pictures......

Not an SP bonnet either. Not sure from the pictures if there is evidence of the brake calipers, exhaust, gearbox, prop., spare wheel carrier or rear shocks being present either so not a very good write up from the auction house unfortunately. Plenty of time to search for the bits however whilst investigating what lurks under that bubbling vinyl roof.

So basically needs a total restoration and of course the obvious and not mentioned missing parts! They need to show more vin stampings besides the unattached tag!

Re: SP at H&H auction 131-4913 REA 45L
Auction is Wednesday 24th April
Unearthed six years ago from storage, the restoration began with the matching numbers engine and
gearbox stripped from the car but then progress sadly stalled. Offered now as a very exciting restoration
project having been off the road for several decades, the matching numbers engine with triple carburettor
set-up and accompanying automatic gearbox.
Supplied with a spare 7. 2-litre V8 engine and an additional set of alloys, the Interceptor is believed to
be complete. The accompanying history file contains the aforementioned extensive factory records of
the maintenance, an original handbook, workshop manuals, original sales literature, and a V5 document.

Re: SP at H&H auction 131-4913 REA 45L
A single opening commission bid of £10k and no other interest...so the auctioneer "passed" on the lot.
