was the original part threaded? if so, they look very similar to those fitted to an MGTF - see below (I know it is blue, (red and green also available) but other cars from this era may have use yellow/amber)

I know it's too late to be of use for you, but my brother showed me this website last week, and I thought it may be of use to everyone.
They list the speedo lenses - two different sizes, 7 different colours (I'm tempted to fit the clear one, and use a coloured LED light).
