I like this car much more now than I did when it came out.
BUT, only 2,496 miles?
Such a shame it has seen so little use.
I covered 3,600 miles in a three-week European holiday in 1976 with the beautiful vicar's daughter in a modified Humber Sceptre Mk II.

Although its not my thing I do like it more as the years go by.
But £27K to recommission after just 2500 miles , thats an expensive car to run.

According to the Vipercetors Instagram page, it received a fresh coat of paint in Summer 2023, not sure if this is part of the £27k recommission cost.
Personally, I love this car.

The front end just looks too much like a home brew kit car for me, but that's just me !

I think it needs nice shiny chrome bumpers.
Both ends.
I think C-V8s look dreadful without bumpers.
Like they're set for banger racing.

I just hope it finds a home and never sees the light of day again, but who would pay such money in todays world, is it an investment, definately not, so only those with loads of money and no taste might purchase.
But - What does everyone else think
I love the original West Bromwich Jensen cars so sorry It breaks with design
Lets wait and see as the auction will be an interesting watch!

You would think that if the previous owner had liked it, the car would have seen much more use.
Maybe the novelty quickly wore off?

Or maybe the previous owner has multiple other toys to play with and it's time to move the Viperceptor on?

When I saw it in the metal, I thought it looked good, clearly an Interceptor but more modern looking. That's not necessarily a bad thing, nor a good thing but it was very well executed.
I hope whoever buys it (at whatever price) they enjoy it for what it is, a very fast, "new" car, which looks like a modern Interceptor.

Re: Viperceptor at Historics Auction RUF 340M
Many moons ago when there was a fad for designing new cars based on an old design (think here of the Rover 75, Jaguar S Type, new VW Beetle and possibly some others too), Keith Anderson produced an image of what someone might do in a similar vein for the Interceptor. I thought the image looked very good and at the time quite modern and a tasteful update of a classic design, much as the Rover and Jaguar did. This is as close a rendering of that image that is possible to do and I still think it looks good today. It's difficult to update a design of a car that originally had separate bumpers to look like more modern cars which have more integrated plastic "bumpers".
This car also has a Chrysler engine so remains faithful to the Chrysler tradition of the Interceptor unlike other "restomods" that tend to use a GM engine. I like it. If I had the money I would have it and use it.

Re: Viperceptor at Historics Auction RUF 340M
I’m sure one could have a huge amount of fun in this and at half the price I guess there would be quite a queue to bid at the auction. At 90-120k inc. I’m more doubtful but I’ll enjoy looking at it as it will be on sale just up the road. There’s a lot of very powerful and appealing stuff on the market for around half the price - 10-20 year old 6 litre Mercs, top spec Bentley Conts, many Ferrari models, etc
I don’t think the brutish looks have much to do with the original Jensen Interceptor which in all its forms has such elegant lines and styling features, while being extremely powerful.

I did the original series of drawings and they were shown first here on our forum and also in the magazine.
Brett Anderson (no relation) obviously liked this design and spent considerable money and resource on producing a very faithful replica. So well done Brett!
