Hi all

Chassis No 128/4615
Ex Factory 04.1972 and despatched 25.05.72 - so surprised not registered until 11.1972
Originally Royal Blue with a Beige Interior
Factory Fitted options included Sundym Glass, Voxson Radio/Cart 8 Track and Town & Country Horns

No Air Conditioning fitted

Not sure about the yellow striping after - particularly as it was only resprayed 2 years ago
The V5 appears to suggest current Welsh ownership

Be kind on the interior colour - i think it is meant to be Oxblood

Regards

That looks scary!!!
It starts badly, and the more you look, the worse it gets.
The front wheels across the axle appear to be even wonkier than the exhaust.

Definitely one to buy, as the interior looks nice and the driver's seat is the one place you can't see the outside paint.
Who on earth authorized the description of the interior as "purple"? If I was selling, I'd call it "light cassis"...

Maybe this could be a fun car to actually run as a daily driver, not worrying about the paint getting chipped or the bent nose.
"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

On FB Marketplace for £35k and hasn't sold...hmm really? At least the door shuts remain original blue to add a relaxing transition between the "hammerite" green and "light cassis" interior :-)

Recommend replacing the broken nearside rear wheel stud and rear exhaust support bobbin before driving it anywhere!!

OMG are they colorblind? And that High Deck big block? Now they are making stuff up! Could this green be the new resale red? LOL :)

auction ends tonight, don't think it will meet its reserve as the market has bombed, and its Xmas

currently at £11,000 ends GMT 19:25, only 6 bids so far - I doubt it will even get to £15

I personally think that’s strong money - albeit the inner and outer sills have allegedly been replaced (to an unknown standard) which may have been a factor. However, that interior looks vinyl to my eyes (or as good as).

I’m a bit out of touch after selling mine last summer.

Isn’t AHU 98L actually a G series made up until May 72 with a 6276cc.

Some of the receipts show a chassis number of 128/4613

Thoughts ?

Looks like badly sanded down filler, then painted over.

I like this car a lot, and at £6 or £7K I would have been tempted, but may have passed on it. I would have gone into it knowing it was not economic to bring it to a much higher standard, I would have checked out the front suspension to make sure it was OK after the smash, and tried to use it as a dry weather only daily driver, after some work underneath on rust protection. Are there proper drain holes in those sills?
The orange Interceptor with a hole in the boot floor after the LPG tank was removed, sold for £12K, which was in the ballpark for what it was advertised at a couple of years ago when it sold, so probably a fair price now? Someone had a lucky escape in my view on this one. It is a great time to buy a Jensen if you shop around.
