I think the design holds up very well. Looks just as good with the roof down too. We had one join us on the Loire Rally this year. With such a low mileage though, what are your plans for the car?

I agree, great car- thanks for posting, well done. Also great insight, Keith. Emile's red S-V8 also lovely, of course. Strontium Red, I assume- which made me chuckle, if you know a bit of Italian (w/o the i)

Re: SV8
A general observation. I have not seen any Jensen in use on the road for at least 15 years and have never seen another Jensen while driving the Jensens I have owned over the last 35 years.
Not sure what to make of it, although the lack of use was surely not what was intended by the Jensen brothers and all who followed them when they built and sold the cars. Also hard to believe they would have recommended such lack of use.

Re: SV8
Hi Sean
Thank you for the confirmation on the Chassis No
As you may be aware, i am recording information on all Interceptors
I have now decided to extend this to all Jensen models - although at an early stage and i am aware that others also have extensive records on some models
In respect of your new SV8 acquisition a little piece of information:
In the Historics Auction on 07.06.2014
Reg No OX 53 DHJ
One Owner
2,680 miles
Offered with a Guide Price of £24/28,000 but failed to sell
Also very interested in your brother's collection of cars
Get to join the JOC - it may push him into starting to reuse his cars
I would be very interested in the details of any cars that he has in his possession or has owned
If he would like to PM me, i may be able to provide some earlier information on some of the cars
Enjoy the SV8 - it is there to use and enjoy
Regards

Re: SV8
Over a quarter of a million miles of roads in the UK, 1,440 minutes in a day, what are the chances of you being in the same piece of road in the same minute as another Jensen car? Or for that matter any other classic car. One would think driving to Goodwood Revival that there would be lots of classics on the road. On the way there this year, I saw just 2 others on the A3 simply because they were dawdling along and I overtook them. Not until the last road leading to the car park were there any to be seen in any quantity. It's simply a lot of road space, a lot of time and not being in the right bit at the right time. Plus of course they are just occasional use cars these days.David Davies wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:38 am A general observation. There will likely be a good few at the Spring Weekend next year.

Re: SV8
Here in Arizona, there gets to be a lot of “pent up demand” for driving due to the blistering hot summers…
So as soon as the heat breaks (in October), you see a lot of classics - mostly muscle cars - out on the road.
Haven’t crossed paths with a Jensen here (except when I seek them out)…

Re: SV8
I appreciate there may be quarter of a million miles of road in the UK and 1440 minutes in every day but equally for many years I drove 15-18,000 miles a year and even in retirement I do 13-14,000 miles, out morning and afternoon 7 days a week. Yet I never see Jensens though to be fair I don’t see a lot of other marques. However I regularly see a couple of R-Type Bentleys and a Silver Cloud even in the winter and some other classics on a fairly regular basis such as DB5s, Healey 3000s, MGs etc
Most active classics seem to be just occasional use and seem almost wholly event driven. A lot more though are laid up in collections large or small. None of this inactivity does the cars any good and was not what they were built for. Twenty plus years ago I used to see far more classics on my travels and in daily use.
