As a kid my parents, brothers and I came toCelerina quite a few times (probably had something to do with having Swiss grandparents!) and we used to ski in St Moritz. Seeing the ski map brings back old memories. No Piste Bashers, no release bindings and massive moguls by the end of the season. All a bit different now.

Thank you for your mails- I'll try to get back to you personally ASAP. We (Mike Koch) are still awaiting responses and confirmations, so the finalization of our Meet is a bit delayed.

Absolutely! We^d very much look forward to having you join us (sorry for the delayed response).

Thank you all for bearing with us, sometimes things take a little longer than expected. We'll be sending out the infos to those who have expressed interest shortly. For those who haven't contacted us and are interested in coming, drop us a line (office@jcc.ch). We'll be staying at the Hotel Reine Victoria in St.Moritz. Plans for Saturday are either the Stelvio Pass, or for the more sensible among us :D a bit of a reduced tour in the same direction (I'm part of the Stelvio faction). Across from the hotel is a spa, there is duty free shopping in Italy, and there is of course St. Moritz. And by the looks of it, the hotel has a decent bar.

Looking very much forward to the weekend,

Andi, Mike, Marcel, Felix

PS the hotel is relatively moderatly priced. We booked the economy rooms, for those wishing to upgrade, let us know.

We'd very much look forward to that, John.

The German Meet also ended up being held in 2024 after being postponed once (or twice?), and then ended up being cohosted by all European clubs- which I'm really, really excited about and looking forward to- and it's been a real pleasure working together with the other clubs to make this happen. We had quite a bit of discussions with the other clubs about how we should arrange the two Meets, and whether we should combine the two to one Meet. The decision was then to hold the two Meets a week apart, the idea being that those who would have a longer distance may make a weeks outing out of the two Meets.

We're also in for this trip. Thinking of leaving on Wednesday morning and arriving at the hotel on Thursday and then staying until Monday morning before moving on via Lucerne to the International at Titisee.
Anyone else going (other than Helen & John who've already indicated they're going)?

Excellent! Adam will be one of the Stelvio candidates I imagine. Maybe we will also have to plan in an additional (optional) tour come to think of it, either very early in the morning or a midnight tour, when the roads are empty (except for the wildlife) :D For those with wooden/bakelite steering wheels don't forget your leather gloves!

Yes I did the Stelvio two years ago in the SP and had a great time. Also came up the other way (not sure exactly from where) and there were no cars on the road, but it was just as twisty and steep. I remember the tail coming out once or twice and having to lean down to see the left hand hairpins as otherwise the roof got in the way.

Sounds like you may have come up the Umbrail Pass from the Swiss side- quite steep and with tight turns. The other options are from Tyrol or from Italy. It's not still open from which side we head up the Stelvio, all three sides are possible (although the Tyrol side would involve a bit more driving).

:D two thumbs up...
