I have read so many places about the best way to get a great performance out of the 440...its cams, carbs, EFI, headers, manifold etc...
And a saying goes...opinions are like assholes everyone has one...please dont get offended anyone, its just a metafor...
but would be great to gather all opinions in one tread, as we have all induvidual opinions and experiences.
I have fitted a 750 cfm Edel with Edel RPM manifold, though I have not tuned the engnition it doesnt pull that good below 3000 rpm... but after its a roar...
Experiences please...

Well, since i only sitting and drinking redwine- i can start...
My car are an std. 7,2 from 74
I have
Edelbrock 750 carb
Weiand Action + inlett(like edelbrock performer rpm)
Performer springs in the "distrubuetor"
And i guess it´s now have around 300 HP Din...
It´s very fast in the middels(30-50/70-90 mph), and if I was I little bit moore brave,it will go way over 5500RPM...
As you say, it´s so much information on the net- the quest is how far will you go- I want to take mine to around 380 real HP...
And if I raise the comp to 9,8:1, and put in an other camshaft, and do some modificasions on the outlet, I guess I´m done...., until....

Hi Guys
Have a read of the article on the Monday Club site re 440 tuning. It's all bolt on stuff, so is easy to do.

i would of thought before anything else it would be a good move to get rid of the restrictive exhaust system, good running 440,s really need a minimum 2-1/2 " system with free flowing silencers to enable them to breath . if you dont make them breath you wont get full benefit from your aftermarket performance parts .

I usually run mild hydraulic cams such as the MoPar Performance P4120235, port the heads and deshroud the valve bowls, open the seats up to 2.14/1.81 valves when redoing the grind, 1/2" pickup tube and enlarge the block's oil passage as the MP engine manual has always stated and I always change the rod bolts to new high strength ARPs etc and resize the rods.
Always seemed to work for me, and it's not expensive...
I mill my heads .030 and use Felpro gaskets, which gives me a VERY slight increase in compression also...
