SW London & Surrey area meeting

Post by sarea »

Good Afternoon
I would like to invite everybody to the first SW London & Surrey meeting, I have chosen Painshill Park on the 3RD June 2023 for our first meeting this would be an informal meeting of Jensen owners to turn up on a Saturday afternoon between 1pm & 4pm for a chat with like minded people, from my understanding there is a tea room where refreshments can be got & some nice walks for those who wish to do so. It would be great to see as many of you as possible & to try & get some form of regular gathering going for our area. Painshill park is located just off the A3 (A245 junction) so easy for most people to get to. If you could let me know if intend to come along it would be appreciated(post code KT11 1JE)

I'm lying under the GT looking into fixing the exhaust and fuel gauge (well not exactly at this minute, just taking a tea break).

When I showed my family the pictures of Painshill Park, they thought it looked great and wanted to come as well, as long as it wasn't in the Jensen, in case it broke down.
Inevitably, halfway there in our everyday car, it overheated. The RAC could find no leaks, so escorted us back home and that was the end of our day out - sorry to have missed you.
It would be a shame if the moral of the story is: come in the Jensen, but leave your family at home!

The answer to that one is use the Jensen more frequently and gain the confidence that it will get you there and back. I love it when I'm belting along the motorway in my "unreliable old car" past all the moderns that are broken down at the side of the road.

well thanks to everybody who turned up on Saturday at Painshill park, there was only 5 members in attendance myself Stan Schlesinger, Kevin Ainsworth, Paul Edwards & Shaun Madle.
I would like to thank them for coming & hope to meet up with them again soon, I should also mention Stephen Goodall who was coming to the event when his(modern) car had a problem, maybe next time Stephen & bring the Jensen.
Unfortunately I haven't any pictures but we had a lovely 541 & Healey MK2 also an early MG-TD I believe if the owners could post a picture of there cars it would be appreciated.
With regards to the next time I promise I will check that there are no major sporting events that day(FA Cup final & Derby Day) any ideas on where to meet would be great until then hope to see some of you at the international weekend.
