Techno Classica in Essen - JOC is ready

Post by Jens »

After some struggeling in getting cars for the show, the JOC stand this year is an Interceptor only.

We had no chance to get an Healey, GT, 541, C-V8 or any other car.

But we have:

+ a positano yellow Mk I
+ a silver Mk II
+ a blue Mk III
+ a brasilia SP

Come and visit us in Hall 6, stand 6-851 from now on until Sunday, 16. April.

I'm sorry to say that this year (for the first time in a while) I wasn't planning to go to Essen. I did miss completely that the JOC club would be stationed there again, was nice meeting you all last year.
Found a Vignale built LHD MK1 in South Africa, Sincar #15, chassis 117/2592.
On a long and winding road to restore it back to original condition.

It looks terrific - I know I'm probably a little biased but, all those Interceptors together look lovely 8)
I wish you the very best for a brilliant show and one year, I'll try to make it to Essen.

Well, that's 20 minutes of my life I'll not get back.

I wondered why the phrase "How much is the fish?" would be used by Germans, and after much research found that that question has been pondered in Germany since 1998. In that year a "techno hardcore rave" band named Scooter released a song "How much is the Fish", and I presume that is their lead singer, a Herr Baxter, trying out the Interceptor.

(p.s. I now also know how much the fish was, and why, so it has been a productive afternoon).
"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

Well done, great stand, sorry I couldn't assist. Scooter, though, is more music for the masses than HC :D (20 minutes!?)

Hi Jens, so instead of Vicky Leandros you've had Scooter on the stand
Was it because he fit the budget?

Sure, Vicky wanted money, he didn't.

He was happy enoughto take a seat in a Jensen.
