I've had a look with my extremely limited Forum accessibility and it looks fine as far as I can tell; you're a registered user, and JOC signed up member.
How are you trying to search for the user?

I go to private messages. Then click on “compose messages” then click on “find member” and it comes up with “your not aurthorised….etc”

Out of interest, can you try the two other ways of PMing someone:

Jot down their username on a piece of paper and then type it directly into the address box. When you select Add User, it will tell you if the user does not exist, or add it.

Second, when reading a user's post, click (tap) on their username, and a page of info about them should open. Near the bottom, there should be the option to Add Friend. (or Foe!). You can build up a whole list of names of people you regularly correspond with, and just add in the ones you want each time.

Both of the above should be authorised; let us know if they are not.

I suspect the "Find a Member" part is for Admin only, as it reveals their personal email addresses. Therefore I believe it cannot be shared to all members.
As VFK44 has mentioned, if you can copy and paste as username, or find a post by a particular member, then follow the PM link from their profile, it should work.

I lost that ability to click on a user name a month or so ago, may have been after the forum update?

I also had issues and could not tap on username or search for it but as I knew it I could manually type it in.

All these things used to work for me, also since the recent changes I have to select the forum from the club website every time I log in as my browser (safari) does not keep, the forum page open when I sign out.

Im not complaining this is for information only as all these things worked before the changes and I can still do everything but maybe a bit slower, just like getting older I suppose 😁

I can still click on a username and then the link for Private Message. It might therefore be a "permissions" setting or something. Whether that's at a user level or admin level I don't know.

I've still got the "online" listings, but I have administrator and moderator rights.

It turns out that I am also having problems with selecting a username to then send a PM.

I'll make sure that Raj knows that there is an issue.
UPDATE: I have emailed Raj to make sure she's aware of the issue.

For the moment if you need to send someone a PM then copy their username and paste into the PM.

I need to sort some stuff out in the background to allow people to click on the username to get the option to send them a PM again.

Or find a message from that user, then click on the contact symbol below the users specifications box. Works for me.

This has been posted in the members area, I have now moved it to general discussion

I've been away at a family funeral, hopefully will find time this weekend to sort this out.

Raj needed to change various account names to remove email addresses which was done a little while ago.
