Previously sold at ACA in early 2019 for £12,720 inc premium and with Bonhams in 2012 before that for £10,250.

According to the vendor "The reserve has been set very low (below 20k) to aid a hassle-free sale"

It would be nice to see it back on the road.

Happy to report that I have bought the car, literally 10 mins drive from where I work, I inspected the car and it's very original, engine is great, and a nice straight car for a change, that sadly has only been trailered or driven to auctions and back in the past 12 years. With just over 300 miles covered in that time, it really does now need some TLC, and at some point I would like to return her to the original blue paint exterior, as I have always had a soft spot for Blue Interceptors since watching the Saint on TV :-)

Original Reg Plate GNV 1L - now sporting LNV 569L
Original Body Paint - Reef Blue - Code M031 3435 ( ICI Paint) but now temporarily a dark purple/brown
Manufactured July 1972 Chassis 128 4859 Engine no. HC10503
Inspected by Jensen on 1st Aug 1972 - and sold new on 1st Oct 1972

Car is apparently known to JOC, as the previous owner who bought the car back in April 1996, was a member and given JOC 7108

Hi Jim, I found that copy of April 2005, and sadly it is LNV 669L - which is one of the chassis numbers that Steve used to
own 136/8494 and had the reg no back then LNV 669L, the car was painted in the early 90's a Metalic Emerald Green, but
thank you for spotting it all the same - but is does not look like Reef Blue to me :-)

thank you chaps for such kind words, I am really pleased with this car, just need the 440 to have a major service and a few other tweaks and things to get nearer to 20mpg for those trips to the South of France, not even sure if that is possible, but a new overdrive gearbox ( calling Steve ) might definately be the answer :-)

Peter, I reckon you have one the early 440's there, they were the Magnum high comp engines, have a look after the engine number on the block and see if it says "HP" at the end..If so they go like a scorded cat!!.. I did read somewhere it had a rebuild though..lets hope they kept the same compression ratio 10:1  ..It should do half hour in 20minutes!!Image

That engine, a six pack, and a manual gearbox, and you are all set for your trips to France and 20mpg. No worries about a six pack running away with you if you have a clutch. You could then have it repainted blue, to match the Med. I wouldn't swap one auto box for another. An alternative might be a locking torque convertor for your box, but that is still a bit of a faff.

thank you, it's going to Jim's Autos soon for a full service and tune, we can then look to see if it's got the HP suffix and Holley square carb, also figure out what compression :-)

will not be going down the manual gearbox route that's for sure, after all this is my "Gentlemens Express"

Have now received all the Jensen factory notes and some warranty and service history for the car, nicely photocopied for me by Martin Robey, all 45 pages,
interesting reading, well worth the £40

The car was inspected on 1st August 1972 and painted Reef Blue with beige/tan interior.

Nice purchase! If the engine has the original intake and it has a Holley carb you know it's the high performance engine.

Get Jim to sort it out, then really give it some right foot and see how amazing the standard Torqueflite really is. It works well manually shifting, try that too. Experience it as it is, as it was. Hopefully you will be totally gobsmacked and use it as is, at least for a while.
It looks like you really dropped onto a bargain at this point. Just because you didn't pay £50K+ doesn't mean it isn't a better car. It is cool because of the way it is. It is something special. Cronic over attention, and utter neglect seem to be the two things the cars suffer from the most.

Nice car! That'll bring you miles of smiles for sure, especially with the exciting plans you have for her.

No big deal, but HC doesn't however stand for "High Compression" - H is for 1972 and C for Chrysler.
