Hampton Court Palace - 2022
Hampton Court Palace - 2022
A very good day was had at Hampton Court yesterday. Thank you David for pulling it together and for everyone attending. I was busy with family members and did not get a chance to take any decent photos but I am sure others did and will upload in due course. Best wishes received and chatting on the Chairmanship is much appreciated.

Hi Karan
I don't recall seeing any mention of this event on the forum. Probably my mistake and appologies if this was publicised and I missed it. Was this event open to other JOC members?

I think Phil is asking if it was advertised as to whether members wished to attend with their cars ?

Re: Hampton Court Palace - 2022
Thanks Shaun, my miss-take. Being a "fish" I have a limited retention span and clearly read about it and then promptly forgot.
While on the subject of publicising events I was interested to read about the recent London West and Thames Valley JOC Area Tour to Ludlow (page 37) in the latest Magazine, especially as I had been looking for some JOC touring events to join this summer. The write up was the first I had heard about the trip to Ludlow and while I appreciate that the event was orgasinsed by a different area to mine, I did notice that quite a few members from other areas also attended the trip. I didn't see any publicity for this event in either the magazine or the Forum.
I have noticed similar "tours" for example orgainsed by Jon Pymm to the South West in 2019 (which I attended) and by Richard Gibson to Scotland this Spring (which I couldn't attend) were actively promoted on the Forum and apparently open to everyone.
Was this event open to just members of the LW and TV Area? Are such area events restricted to only members of the organising area?
If these are "open" events would it be possible for whoever is organising these events to post something on the "Events" section of the forum in future.
Thanks
Phil

Re: Hampton Court Palace - 2022
This was publicised on the events page in both issues 283 and 284 of the magazine and contact details if interested were in both entries. This is one of the few JOC sponsored events in that the club pays for the car and driver's entry (any additional occupants in the car have to be paid for by the member) and is open to members however the number of spaces we can have is limited. In addition the club enters one car into the club trophy section of the event.

Re: Hampton Court Palace - 2022
Hi Phil
On the Ludlow show we have been doing it for many years and it was originally a Shropshire area event that we joined in with. We all book ourselves in individually with the organisers and meet up in Ludlow so that we can enter together and park in the same area. There is nothing to stop anyone else doing the same thing and normally there are other Jensen's in the show ground separate to us. If you do want to join us book yourself in and let us know. However, they event next year may be a different format which we are waiting to hear about.

Phil,
Re: The Ludlow Marches Transport Festival
Details are normally on their website from sometime in the new year. As Dave mentioned, the current format may change for 2023 show. Numbers were restricted this year so it will be a case of keeping an eye on their website for details. You need to book in with your car details and some owners try and park together under the JOC banner.

Some events are not advertised as they should be, not sure if this is down to the Area Reps or who ever runs the diary might not be their job to chase dates, who knows

Re: Hampton Court Palace - 2022
Fishyboy, Phil,
You are not alone. I too have not seen or understood the existence of some events/get togethers that others have been regularly attending and I accept its probably my own fault.
However, I personally would find it helpful if anyone anywhere is arranging an event, that others would be welcome to turn up to, if they maybe mention in it this Events section.
I would certainly have gone to ludlow as my brother lives very close.
I appreciate tho that some people , myself included do not want to end up as the “organiser” of a simple meet up.
Thanks
Brett
