British Car Meet in Mollis- terrible weather, but still a good day out (not many cars there, but 2 C-V8s!)

Exit from the venue via the runway of the airport. The first part being of the runway in use, with a private jet just having taken off in the morning  Unfortunately no nonsense was allowed on the runway.

Went to the Cowley Classic Car show yesterday. Just up the road from me. Great show. Sun shining.
Came away with Best in Show for Sports Car.
Yes, if you don't believe me, check out the front cover of "British Sports Cars since the war" by Martyn Watkins.
A Jensen clearly on the front cover.

It is my first ever award at a show.

Huge congratulations, Shaun!

I remember some years ago, there was a show with a class for "4x4" vehicles, filled with Land-Rovers and Jeeps etc. A JOC member parked their shiny FF in the middle of the row, and came away with a prize!

Shaun, Fekix - Great posts! Well done all round.
Jane suggested we celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday by sending me to a local car show! No awards or racing though.

Some good things going on in the Jensen world! Well done Joerg for getting in some racing!

This weekend we were rebuilding the front suspension on the Spitfire:

Early morning drive home via the Albula and the Flüelapass. Lovely...

Andi: car went well, steering is good, I still think it is lighter to steer now (camber of the wheels was adjusted). Less backfiring when off the throttle (almost none). Engine runs a lot more smoothly... very happy :D

Old memories are coming back. I had a MkIII Triumph Spitfire before I changed to Jensen-Healey in 1977. Front suspension needed a lot of attention. Bushes were a bit of a weak point, however due to regular lubrication with EP90 the trunnions survived remarkably well. With a tweaked rear suspension it was a nice car to drive, even on long hauls.

Drove to Whittlebury Hall today for a car meet and breakfast in the silverstone bar. Lovely parade of photos of great drivers on the wall.
