Does anyone know how this standard 541 came to be registered in August 1957 when production had changed to 541 Deluxe and 541R?

Does it have disc brakes? That is the real sign of a deluxe rather than a standard.

Just looked at my old notes and this car is a bit of an oddity; left factory unregistered, engine number out of sequence, note in Calver's Bible to say originally had a special two seater body. Something going on but not sure what!

And do you have pictures?

It has drum brakes. I think it was languishing in the factory after being made as a prototype, then was made into a standard 541 to shift it!
Car is in desperate need of renovation, which I am just now considering, having owned the car since 1981 when it was already stripped down!

Any further light on its history would be great.
