Thanks Richard, and Christian, all inputs are appreciated. Ill see if I can source the book you referencing Richard, not so easy from South Africa :-D
Luckily I do still have the original gearbox with the car, so that is one less thing to puzzle back together. The heads and intake I do not unfortunately.

Would appreciate your feedback on engine block casting and date markings Christian, cos if 2609 was also 1967, I think the block could be similar dating as mine.

Hi Jasper,
I looked after the carb today, it's definately a Carter AFB 4131s. Sorry that I can't help with the engine nr, but it was totally seized due to water leaking in over years so I gave it to scrap.

Did you ask Dion about his engine number? He owns 117/2610

Hi Jasper,

The engine number of 117/2610, as a Sincar car, is shown on the chassis plate.
By the way, the engine numbers for all cars can also be found in Richard Calvers' books: the Genome and it forefather, the Chassis Data book.

Hi guys,

The engine I confirmed is correct and matching, so that's the good news. The 'nameplate' is missing altogether unfortunately, but when I stamp a replica, it was going to be stamped with the engine nr indeed (which is weird and unusually Sincar)
I got in touch with a MOPAR specialist that helped me decypher the produciton dates, and confirmed the 516 heads (closed chamber) to be correct. He has also sourced a set of heads with the same casting date tags as the blocks (nov 1965) which is awesome, as well as the correct intake manifold 2205968 with cast date october 1965.

Amazing how much knowledge and material is available in the US on those MOPAR items. Anyway, very happy I can bring back a lot of correct materials. Will all require rebuild of course, but that will be good fun.
