New Owner - WIL
Re: New Owner
Interesting to know that the car tolerates a trickle Grant!
I have battery isolator switches on everything these days, Modern cars too. So it is a synch to just unscrew the green knob and trickle. I find batteries last ages now. These intelligent chargers from Aldi work great. Also no flat batteries from leaving lights on, or the navigation device in the lighter socket, doesn't wear out the mechanical clock either.

Just a quick update on WLL 526M...
Having carried out a full assessment of the Jensen 111, I have decided to have some bodywork carried out, followed by mechanics.
So, the car will be 'off the road' for a while, but will hopefully be ready for a drive (and meets!), later this year.
I will carry out some of the work myself, including a 'refurb' of the interior... as previously noted the interior is in good, original condition, and well worth looking after.
The advice and encouragement to date from the Club is much appreciated, and no doubt I will need more!
I am viewing another MK111 soon... yes I've got the bug...
best regards to all,
Wil
P.S. Thanks for the excellent latest edition of the Club Magazine.

Re: New Owner
Hello Folks,
Time for a brief update on WLL 526M...
The car is currently in the body shop and work is progressing well with replacement of various panels, including floor, sidebeams, sills etc etc.,
extensive work and always more than you initially think, as many of you will know...
then onto the mechanical side of things... the car will have a comprehensive refurb...
so, realistically, it will be next year before the car is fully on the road again, but I am looking forward to driving my Interceptor and 'knowing' exactly what I have!
Just a quick question..
any advice on replacement of sound proofing material for floor?
cheers,
Wil

Re: New Owner
Hi Wil…. Welcome to the club. Always interesting to follow progress on our cars. The last photo you posted shows the car below a PPW banner. Is this the bodywork specialist in Worcester? A few of us live near there and it would be good to have a recommendation in the area. Hope to see you at some events once you’re up and running.

Re: New Owner
Welcome to the world of Jensen Ownership and to the club.
Ownership of these cars is a love affair, your hate it, call it names and be totally frustrated by it, but the pleasure of driving it, talking about it and just looking at it will melt your heart every time.
Enjoy the affair, it become addictive.

Hi Sheila,
Thanks for your reply and encouraging words!
I joined the Club last March and started on the restoration work in May.
Yes, Pristine Panel Work are based in Worcester, and have worked on a number of Interceptors.
They have also constructed a complete new bodyshell in aluminium, that I have seen and the work is excellent.
PM me and I can send you more details and contacts.
I have ben done this road with many cars in the past (E Types, MK11,Sunbeam Tiger,Daimler V8250 etc),and yes Colin, it is an addiction!
This is my first Jensen Interceptor.
best regards,
Wil

Re: New Owner - WIL
Will, with those beautiful Header/Manifolds your fitter will need to cut the steering column support bar..down where the steering column UJ's are there is a support that sturdys the column, it is a circular support with felt inside it, that support is bolted to a piece of angle which spans across parallel with the front wheel)drivers side), the angle bar will need to be cut and either re-shaped or another piece added behind it as it fouls the header down pipe ..It'll be obvious to the fitter..I love these headers.
