I belive I´m not the only one with this carb....?

Have anyone of you had to change the jets/rods to get the carb 98% correct?

I belive mine goes a little bit lean over 4800RPM

std. 440 engine, in good shape!

and the carb. have manuell choke!

Hi Erik, i have an Edelbrock 1407 carb on a performer intake on my std 440. I changed the rods one stage leaner on the cruise mode, definately drives better with better throttle response. I have a lambda display to fit, so will be interesting to see how close it is.

Then we got the same carb.

The trottlersponse are good on my car, but its a little slow at the start.

I´m playning with the static timing, to see if it helps, but thats an other subject

But, I guess mine are not 100% on idle- I can turn the mix almost one turn each way, without much diffrence!

I schoul probarly put in a lamba and check, but the I have to weld in a nut...

From what year are your car? Ole did the same as us, and he got an 75 model, thats later than mine( I got an 74 model engine), and his car change from an old fat lady, to an young fast blonde

Mine became a little bit quicker, but not that much, but I didn´t have all the emission stuff on it... when I started.

Please keep me informed, if you came up with something intresting

Hi Erik, mines a 75 5C 440. It made a huge difference swopping out the old thermoquad & std intake, instead of having to flooring it, an inch of throttle now gets it to press me back in the seat. I set my ignition timing on max advance, which when checked at idle ran 10 degrees. I have been planning an engine rebuild for the last 2 years but never got round to it. I have a pair of recon Dick Landy 906 flowed heads to fit & am going to lift the compression to 9.5-1, am going to fit an edelbrock performer plus cam kit so its all matched up. The problem i have is i am into offroading as well so the interceptor has been given the back seat to my landrover discovery, but my detroit locking diffs should be here this week for the disco & once fitted should then be complete, maybe start doing work on the jensen again  . Will let you know how i get on
