Re: NEC - first pictures
This will be quite a surprise for members of the public who think that Jensen started with the Interceptor! Excellent idea to include a 1970s car so people know what manufacturer they are looking at, and also shows we are all one big happy family at the club, with all models welcome!
"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

The monoblocs are very interesting from the design/product point of view:RAP72 wrote:sun loungers would be betterfelixkk wrote:PS the chairs! They make me cringe
"White Plastic Chairs Are Taking Over the World
There are billions of monobloc chairs around the world, and they are completely "context free"—you can't tell when or where you are by looking at them."
"The first cheap, lightweight, stackable, injection molded plastic chair—called a monobloc chair—was probably designed in 1967 by an Italian named Vico Magistretti, then mass produced in the 70s by a company called the Grosfillex Group, but since there are no original patents, nobody really knows who was first responsible. Nor does anyone know how many manufacturers of monoblocs there are today, or even how many have been made, although that number is likely in the billions, though we do know they are all around the world."

"Close to a billion Monoblocs have been sold in Europe alone, with one Italian manufacturer producing over ten million a year. Many design variants of the basic idea exist. The chairs cost approximately $3 to produce, making them affordable across the world."

Re: NEC - first pictures
Looking good, It'll be nice to see some prewar stuff, I've been in the club for 4 years and have never seen any Jensen older than the early Interceptor, so well done to the lads and ladies, that have managed to get these on display.

Re: NEC - first pictures
I love an Interceptor (who doesn’t?) but it’s really nice to see some completely different cars on the stand.
And they can be reused in interesting ways too: https://www.gallery.ca/magazine/your-co ... and-vienna" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;felixkk wrote:The monoblocs are very interesting from the design/product point of view

Not sure where you are Kevin, but if you visit the East Midlands you are welcome to call in and see my pre-War Jensen. In the Spring you might even get a run in it.Kevin Birch wrote:I've been in the club for 4 years and have never seen any Jensen older than the early Interceptor
