8 Track Sound

After fixing my 8 track, installed it and replacing the four speakers I got these 8 tracks off eBay (I know I have to loose a few!!) and to my surprise the sound is rather good. I also installed a bluetooth adapter that is connected to an MP3 input. The adaptor resides in the gloved box (power off a small 12V to USB output TX) that I can steam modern music to. Forgot how good the album- Wish You Were Here is!!!

Wish You Were Here is one of my favourites! Some great albums there :-)
You can ditch the Minnie Riperton though....

Which 8 track have you got, the Voxson /Motorola or the Lear-Jet?

I remember listening to the Lear-Jet in John Donegan's SP, sounded fantastic :-)

Great news Karan. Glad you managed to get the 8 track working fully, with upgrades.

You are now our resident UK based 8 track expert!!

Any 8 tracks that won't play can usually be repaired. There is a piece of sponge glued to a piece of card that sits behind the tape, that the capstan presses against, but this sponge disintergrates, so the player can't get a grip of the tape. The 8 track cartidge can be un-clipped, and the sponge replaced with a bit of draft-excluder, and away you go again,. The first one will take you a while, but you'll soon get the hang of repairing them. There are videos as usual on Youtube.
