Re: International 2017
I had a run over to this i have been a Jensen nut for almost 40 yrs now yet the last international i attended was circa 86 it was held in Buxton,, anyway lots of lovely cars met some old faces and met some new, i parked on the back lot with the peasants BUT get this there was not a single SP in the show n shine / concours area yet a staggering 6 SP,s in the peasants area that was cool, well done,,
Excellent standing round chewing the fat then every 20 mins or so you heard that familiar rumble of a chrysler engined Jensen running in or going from the event,,,

Re: International 2017
It was a great event, many thanks to the organisers for all the hard work that must have gone into it.
Great to meet friends old and new and I got a drive out in a Healey (now I want one) and got to fix some cars.
Journeys to and from were a bit warm so must fix the air con. The grumbly one behaved itself perfectly and was happy sat with all the other SPs with the great unwashed in the secret car park.
Looking forward to the next meet up.

Re: International 2017
Thanks Dave.
Great to see the cars, but it's the people that make the club tick.
I gather the venue was excellent but, from a selfish point of view, I hope next years is at a venue that allows us to be able to join you - we really missed it this year.

Re: International 2017
Not selfish Richie, fortunately we are "local" enough to go along for just the day, however we would also have really liked to have gone for the weekend. That aside, it was absolutely great to meet up with some of the nicest people we have the fortune of knowing. The people DO make it.Richie wrote:Thanks Dave.

Simon and Alison. Complete with Jess, Abbie, Bill and Callum who had a great time also meeting up with their own Jensen friends.

Hi Zac, were there any 541s in the concours? What were the concours results?- perhaps you are saving this info for the magazine article! (Send by pm if you need to)
Cheers Dave

Re: International 2017
I will have a brief article in the forthcoming magazine - full results will be published in the one after that as I need to review the scoresheets etc to confirm the accuracy and to consider any discrepancies. However I can report that a quality entry was won by David Booth's Jensen Healey 1 , with another Healey winning 2nd place -Kevan Elliot had done a top job cleaning his car and the 2 Healey's looked spectacular next to each other. I was very pleased that the cup for third place went to a totally novice entrant Gary Cream - a very nice Interceptor 3 that again had been well cleaned. There were 2 541s entered, both of which gained very respectable marks.
By the way, Zac is not Concours Secretary, as far as I am aware the club is still looking for one to replace me.

Re: International 2017
I only went yesterday, and as already said a great day, that for me wasn't the cars but the people many of who have become good friends over the past few years. Well done to Gary which was a surprise for all, but very well deserved as I know he has put a lot of time and effort into his car.
My journey home got a bit warm, but the old girl did it without incident, I don't know who was hotter, me or the car! Even though it was running near the red as I entered B'ham, I shocked a bunch of kids in a tarted up Hyundai Getz that thought they were the B****x, until I left them standing
