"I became the proud owner of my JH2 back in September 1978.
The car (chassis number 13438) was originally supplied by Charles Follett in London and I was the fourth owner. Interestingly, the car was first registered as September 1973 as Indigo Blue, even though it left the factory painted black. After two years of use as my everyday transport, it was time to sell up or restore, as the bodywork had rust holes appearing in the usual places.

For the next 3 years, evenings and weekends were spent renovating the car, complete panels were spot welded in place as per original build. I was fortunate in being able to buy many panels and trim parts left over from the original Jensen factory, so originality was maintained which was paramount to me. In early spring 1983 I resprayed the entire car with black cellulose paint and then filled every nook and cranny with waxoyl. After this 'labour of love' I wanted the car to last for a long time! The car has been in regular use ever since, but I do limit days on the road to dry conditions (unless going to a JOC function of course!)

Having completed 98,000 miles, the engine was becoming rather tired, so I decided to carry out a full engine rebuild as a retirement project last year. Again I undertook all of the work myself with the exception of having the cylinder head fitted with new valve guides and skimmed. During the build I had invaluable support from Martin Shirley on technical advice and the loan of liner clamp tools through David/Helen Newby. The work was completed in time for my wife, Rose and myself to attend the JOC St. Ives weekend last September, which was superb.
