Anyone fancy driving a CV8 to the 50th at Waddeson
Hi.
I have a CV8 but can't make the 50th at Waddeson Manor.
If anyone fancies taking a CV8 there and driving mine please let me know.
You would have to collect the car on Saturday the 27th and drop it back before the 1st August.
You need to be a JOC member.
Best wishes.
Paul

Paul, I would be interested in getting your CV8 "to the Ball"! I am attending both days anyway; I will send a PM later regarding the details. I live in Essex, quite close to Studio 434.

Hello have sent a pm.

I've got a nephew who's just passed his test on his third attempt who would love to take your car to the 50th. Do you think he'll be able to squeeze 6 of his mates in there with him? I haven't met any of them but I'm sure they're great kids.

Dave, what a bummer but I've just let Stephen Carter have the car.
I think you can get 7 in a CV8 for future reference.
Best.
Paul.

Test? You wanted someone who has passed the test?

Should I make a run for the border?
Unfortunately, common sense prevailed and yesterday I returned the CV8 to Paul Anderson, the generous owner who entrusted it to me for the CV8 50 weekend, based on nothing more than the belief that a fellow JOC member must be made of the right stuff! Despite the efforts of a tractor driver when only minutes from the end of the journey, I was able to repay that trust and even delivered it cleanish!
Many thanks, and I am sure the crowds at Waddsdon also appreciated it.

Stephan, you must have had a wonderfull weekend. Very kind of Paul to trust his car to you. About the weekend, I would have loved to be there and checked the forum every day for pictures. Nice to see them now & to read about the fantastic atmosphere.

Here's the email I sent Stephen (top bloke) just in case it hit his junk box.
Dear Stephen,
Thank you for taking my CV8 to the 50th.
It was not only very kind of you but the badge for my son Thomas has gone down very well so I thank you.
In addition, thank you for the pictures. They are great and very useful in the restoration process.
It was great to meet you and I am glad the CV8 day wet well.
No doubt we'll see each other again and it will be a pleasure to buy you a beer.
I guess our collaboration is what being in an active, friendly and dynamic club is all about.
Many thanks Stephen and best wishes.
Paul.
