Body colour. Black for the alloy grill spacers, but I too keep them alloy esp as being a pest,I would polish them.
Come on, put some VX pics up, that looks a lovely car, I spoke to someone funny enough this week that mentioned your very car!
Its a teeny world.
I'd also have to agree, as way back when you asked I mentioned a certain SP, Blue/oxblood red works, so does silver grey /red. 8)
What an awesome 'statue' you have given new life to, the quality is very evident.

Here's a question, is the metalwork behind the trim/grill meant to be body coloured or black ?
It is supposed to be balck, but it caught my eye and I really Like it

I always thought it was supposed to be body colour behind the lights, this is only really noticeable because the photo was taken low down and the flash also makes this stand out.
The grille spacers were made from stainless steel and again only show up under flash, so I will wait and see how they look when the car is out in the sun.

This is not really Jensen related but heres a couple of pics of my new daily driver for Tim, Ive driven it every day for the last month and it has been totally reliable and lots of fun.

I thought mk1s were colour coordinated and later cars were black behind the headlights.

I think there may be some confusion here between the colour around the lights and the colour behind the lights.

If you look at DPP's picture of the lights, the surround is black, but if you look very carefully you can see the colour behind these surrounds (and behind the grille) is blue. Am I right in thinking this is the colour that is being discussed?

I know of a VX490 of the same age being broken for parts if you require anything ? (Except the diff).

This was my understanding, and mine is body coloured.

Looks amazing Dave. The attention to detail

On a completely different note, if a car were to ever have a face, then your daily driver has one.

Hi

I was given a link to your thread about your restored Jensen and I have read it with extreme interest. Respect mate. Fantastic job. I have loads of questions I would like to ask you since I am beginning my restoration. I am based in Preston. Is there anyway to exchange details some how so I could pick your brain, so to speak.

Many thanks

Ive been finishing off all the small jobs lately but have now got the doors back on and hopefully if the bonnet goes on next week I can take it for an MOT.
Then its down to building up the doors and finishing off the rest of the small jobs, but building up the doors is now my biggest task.
