January - The Austin A40 Sports

Jensen designer Eric Neale had a vision of "An Austin and a Jensen from the same stable", and this is quite clear in the first photo below, the original Jensen Interceptor and the Austin A40 Sports.
The idea was to make common quite a few of the body jigs and parts, with the amount of design work being reduced. Austin's Leonard Lord was impressed with Neale's A40-based design and he thus commissioned Jensen Motors to build bodies for the new car, which was to be called the Austin A40 Sports.
