Bigger bargain than an Interceptor?

We are always saying that the Interceptor is under-priced. So how about a fully roadworthy, excellent condition AC for just £12,500? It's their final, low production, mid-engined car. Surely this would get you into any concours event?

At some point these cars were built a few miles from Glasgow airport. Sadly it was a very short lived affair. The few that I have seen had a kitcar look about them.

That's maybe because they were both introduced the same year, although it took AC a long long time to get it into production.

I drove one once, the performance was quite disapponting and it did feel like a kit car with the smell of the hot fiberglass and the annoying squeaks and rattles.

The one I drove was for sale because the owner got fed up with it as it kept breaking down and overheating. I was told it had caught fire not long after it was sold.

I think it was their only mid-engined car. They went back to Cobras after that.

I've always liked them. I think they've got lots of potential and properly sorted are really very good.

A good project for someone.

12500 is not small money. It can buy Mercedes 560SL or nice Interceptor or for example BMW 3000CSi. Which all definitely give much more space, pace and grace than this AC.

I always fancied the 3000ME after seeing them in a sports car magazine in the early 80s.
