Reg number
I read it as HXS, which is a 1962 Mid Lothian number, so unlikely to be the original?

This car is chassis number 1081. It most recently carried the UK number plate, 160 TPP. The records also indicate a European (Dutch?) plate as DD 17 06. Does anyone have any photos of this car before it was left out in the elements??

Not quite sure if this is correct david as the chassis number shown would indicate this car as S1027/102.Manual gearbox number 102 as would be the case for S1081.
S1027 also shows signs of orginal paintwork in black and interior red.No reg. number on record in calvers book.
My old "S" was number 26 with auto gearbox
regards

Dave, I'm with Richard on this one - plate is stamped 1027, not 1081 in my opinion. That's your Xmas present sorted then; a Specsavers voucher
To be fair, I thought it was an 8 at first. I suppose the Jensen craftsmen worked on the car and the apprentices got to stamp the chassis plates.

"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

The car was discussed at "Bring a trailer" and the owner wrote is was sold to someone as a donor car.

92 BXH
92 BXH was a Jensen number in the early days of the JOC. Unfortunately the list of cars doesn't include any more details that would help - although looking alphabetically at the registration numbers, 1027 would be the favourite......
