I might upset someone here,but, I have always had the idea that banger racing is mainly the honest working chaps only in road to motorsport,there always has been a certian type of cretin,normally trade,who take great please in destroying rare cars,which in many cases could easilly be saved.
Indeed i knew a couple of teams who would show off the fact they destoyed a lovely rare whatever. Fair one if its a cat D or totally unuseable. What sort of creature would enjoy the total destruction of a decent old car? A banger racer!
