As you may have read in the JOC magazine Tim Giddy & Reg Barton have set up a group for the Cotswolds and surround areas. We want to make this one of the best and friendly areas of the JOC, we are blessed with beautiful surroundings and we plan to make the most of them. We would love all members to join in, it doesn’t matter what car you have, even if you aren’t lucky enough to own a Jensen please come along to events. It doesn’t matter if your car is concours or well loved, its just great to see them all and for you to join in and be among the cars you love and the people that love them.
To that end we have a number of plans to try to give members a chance to get out, drive, show their cars, enjoy other’s cars and to meet fellow members. The big starter to this is that we have arranged a regular monthly meeting for members on the 1st Thursday of the month at 19:00 in the Highwayman Inn, Elkstone , near Cirencester https://www.thehighwaymanpub.co.uk/. They have a very large carpark and are fairly central to the whole area with good road links being on the main A417 (Northbound). Our first meeting is on Thursday 3rd April and it would be great to see as many of you there as possible, with or without Jensens. Please, put it in your diary and come along, let us know what you want from the club. If you could let us know if you plan to attend that would be useful.
Our first show of the year will be the Wheelnuts Classic Car Show at St Roses School in Stroud on 4th May. We are trying to book this now and need the names, cars and registration numbers of anyone who wants to be on the club stand. If you would like to attend then please contact us at cotswold@joc.org.uk in the next two weeks as we want to secure our place.
Perhaps the main event of the year is the Gloucestershire Vintage Extravaganza, held near Cirencester at South Cerney airdrome on the 1st to 3rd August https://www.thehighwaymanpub.co.uk/ We have a stand there for 10 cars on all 3 days, there is camping available on site (chargeable) if you want it. Please can you let us know if you would like to have your car on the stand and indicate what date / dates you can attend, this is a big show and it would be fabulous to have a wide selection of models highlighting the marque.
It is our intention to start 2 WhatsApp groups, one for general chat and another that is just for events, so it is easy to arrange meet ups etc. Please watch out for these if you are in the Cotswold area, if you don’t receive an invitation to them on your mobile then it is probably because we don’t have a mobile number for you, so if you could send us your number in that case and we will add you to the groups. Any events are for all JOC members, so if you want to be on the contact list drop us an email with you email & mobile number and you'll be added to the list.
Lastly, it is our intention to send a monthly update out with a rolling list of events in the next 2 months that members may be interested in attending. Ones highlighted in yellow will have an official JOC presence, others are just events that we know about, if anyone knows of any others then please let us know and they can go on the list. We are looking forward to meeting you all.

Re: Welcome to the Cotswolds!
Thanks for the welcome Tim & Reg,
I'm currently overseas and due back on 1st April, so 3rd April might be pushing things a bit for an outing as I'll need to get my head and cars into gear first!
Hopefully see you soon.
Cheers, Martin.
