Looks like an early 440 car with the real High Performance engine. The Holley carb from the factory is the giveaway.

Tommy,
I guess you mean this photo ..
Guessing it’s probably to take the load of the headlight switch and fans ..
Agreed not upto the standard on a high end car ..

They look like relays with fuses in. Not the way I would have done it but they are honest, right in your face, no missing them. Robey now sell a wiring loom with relays that does similar for fans. Interesting that even 1990s Ferrari's are having similar mods done now as they age.

It's odd how they haven't included any invoices from all the work they have just had done but have for work done in the 90's.
I cant help feeling it's hiding some misery under the filler .

I think this is a great and honest listing, the photos like the one above showing whatever that is, are clear for everyone to see. Fantastic that we have these undercarriage photos. This should be standard. I would not be worried about no invoices for a voltage regulator and a few belts. I think we need more listing like this, clearly showing issues, well done to the seller or auctioneer.
I will also add that the jacking point covers are bits of stainless glued on! It would have been nice to see photos of what is underneath that patch panel or whatever on the sill. At least we are getting some transparency. This may have been done 20 years ago.
In terms of money saving tips for bidders, buying an Interceptor isn't the top of my list, even at today's prices.

I agree the advert is good and the photos are excellent.
It's had a lot of work done recently, many thousands of pounds worth , which is why I'm surprised they haven't shown the invoices , it would be nice to have seen the details.
"Fitting a new front valence and a nearside sill.
reconditioned radiator, and a new thermostat and coolant hoses plus a new heater valve and hoses.
The steering needed work too, and the brakes were seized. The latter was remedied by stripping them down before rebuilding them with new caliper pistons and seals, master cylinder seals, and flexible brake hoses.
The ignition and charging systems saw plenty of action too, including a new battery, alternator and drive belt, voltage regulator, ignition control unit, reluctor sensor, ignition pickup, and ballast resistor.
The door and ignition keys were also replaced along with numerous carburettor parts, PCV valve, bonnet seal and release cable, throttle cable, flasher units, and numerous bulbs, fuses and relays."
The receipts from the 90's show work done on the area with all the filler. It may not have been touched since or may have had something done in the recent work but not explicitly mentioned.

Re: Int 3 with Bonhams online auction KSN302L 128/4804
That offside sill cover panel has been fiddled with recently, surely? Look at the screws - no muck around them from years of being splashed by the front wheel.
The alarm bell for me, based on that picture, is why not fit a proper jacking point cover - which stays in place by gripping the internal edges of the inner sill jacking point extension? Could it be missing or have crumbled away due to rust? You would need to investigate throughly to answer that….and the bondo which is not really hiding beneath the paint on the lower section of the outer sill lower edge doesn’t exactly inspire confidence that work has been done to a high standard.

I agree the jacking points might not actually be there, which is why I mentioned the glued on covers. I think the bondo could also be a mig welded patch ground back, with pinholes in the welding and bits of rust in the pinholes, rather than bondo. I wouldn't put any money on it without seeing it. I thought that "patch" looked 20 years old, and I didn't see the bit about the new panels and nearside sill, and the nearside door not fitting properly! It is still OK at the current money.Mark1Stu wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 6:43 pm That offside sill cover panel has been fiddled with recently, surely?
