FF 078 project at CCA Auction
https://www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/19 ... 378&pp=100
I'm struggling with the description "A partly finished restoration of a very rare, early Jensen FF with some of the work completed.".......but I guess taking it all apart is partly finishing???

The bonnet, wings and front panel are still there so that is a good start! It might be worth a trip over to the consigner to look at all the parts with it and have a chat.

Re: FF 078 project at CCA Auction
This car has been in this condition for the last 30 years or more it’s never changed I bought it in a barn sale in Wales with a mk 1 interceptor vignale before it was stripped I have photos of it somewhere with the mk1 on a trailer when it was picked up.
It’s going to need a lot of work as we know and more importantly an FF person who knows how to put it back together in my mind it’s worth 10k tops so the person who buys it has got some money left in it to finish otherwise it will stay as it is.

Unfortunately no but I’m sure it was 2509 one of the earlier cars I think I’ve still got the old Swansea log book with reg no 48 GPH.

Blimey, that's about what I paid for my car (FF) back in 2007
(I did however spend a little extra having things restored)

You rightlypaid good money as well back then Martin! In 2005 I didn't get that for a pristine looking good solid Vignale. This is surely consistent with the view that a good solid FF is north of £100k. If it is indeed complete with MK1 parts then it is a better project than the Mk 2 shell with MK3 Interceptor bits which made another 4k.at the same auction a few years back.
No photographs of the parts was a problem for this auction but maybe the buyer went for a look and ended up with a bargain??
A fully restored 1984 V12 Ferrari, no visibile rust, 300 moles since repaint made similar money at the same auction yesterday.

I guess things changed a lot since 2007 but you're right about a good solid car being worth it.
It's easy to spend a LOT of money on renovations, unless you're truly capable of, and prepared to do all (or most) of the work yourself.
