1975 FF Ford Capri II Ghia Owned by Paul Briscoe - on display at the Restoration Show this weekend in Hall 5

You may wonder what the heck a Ford Capri is doing on the JOC stand! The owner of the Jensen FF that was supposed to be on the stand had to pull out, Paul owns the Interceptor on the stand, we though that our members and the public would be interested in seeing the car which cost over £15,000 back in the 70s and was featured in custom car magazine

The Capri was customised when nearly new to include:
• custom ivory paint with silver fleck & burnt orange candy shading
• Ferguson Formula 4-wheel drive & anti-skid system
• 3.6 litre Oldsmobile V8 blueprinted & bench tested by Alan Smith racing Ltd
• 3 speed Borg Warner transmission with overdrive
• Thrush side pipes
• Air conditioning

Paul has owned the Capri since November 2022. It appears to have stood for many years, the body is pretty solid but the engine is seized. He plans to restore the capri next year when the interceptor is finished.

His daughter Sarah will be helping with the restoration, she is an apprentice at a local body shop which might come in handy. She has already started by removing the cylinder heads and the car will eventually be hers.
