Probably OK as a parts donor car, the rear glass is worth £1000 on its own :-)

The frame is rotten and I'd rather spend £1400 on a NOS piece of glass from Robey, be reasonably confident the heating element will work and not have the hassle of scrapping the rest of this disaster. Others, including the buyer, obviously see the world through slightly more rosy (rusty?) specs.

Hi all

I went to view this car a few days ago
Rust had taken hold in many places
Also the interior was covered in green mildew - so very poorly stored

A very brave man to restore this one - but agree that there are probably a large number of parts worth saving

The Registration No does not throw up the Chassis No and the bonnet was impossible to open
May see if i can find out the Chassis No from the Auction House

Kind regards

Hi all

Letchworth Auction House kindly confirmed that this was Chassis No 123/3674 so a fairly early Mark 11
Ex Factory 31.12.69
Original Registration No MAY 3
Originally White with a Black Interior
Factory Fitted Options included Sundym Glass, Voxson Radio Cartridge 8 Track, Air Conditioning and Town & Country Horns

Prior to its current Black Colour it appears to have been a Mid Blue also - evidenced in the door shuts

The information on the Auction Website on the Engine No is not correct but it is possible that it has an engine replacement from an earlier Mark 1 car

Kind regards

Sold £3100
Hope it gets restored. Not many Mk2s.
