If in doubt paint everything blue. Nice retrim but could do with some splash guards, some air con reinstated and the front brake flex pipes re-routing for safety.

Hi all
This car was sold a Anglia Car Auctions on 18.06.2018 for £8,692
Owned since 2006
Had been Dry Stored since 2009
Car was Brienz Blue with a Beige Interior with a Black Vinyl Roof and Coachlines
Mileage was 79,388
Interestingly the Photos show the Logbook recording the Engine No as 4C12572
However the Photographs show the Engine No as 4C12371 which was originally in Chassis No 136/9188
The Last information that i have on this car was from 2007
Appears a nice interior but not sure about the bodywork and paint
Regards
Jim Smith

In addition to reading Peter’s critique of web site auction cars, I find it fascinating to read through the published documentation which often accompanies pictures of the car: in particular the bills for parts and work done and the specialists employed.
I think anyone new to the world of buying into the Jensen marque could do a lot worse than study the same. Then contrast the £s spent versus the finished article - and the subsequent value the car achieves at auction.
Surely a great way to learn from the lessons of others and navigate through the dross to identify an excellent car or a slightly down at heel proper example which will respond well to focussed attention?
Disappointingly, most car auction documentation doesn’t include the invoice for bodywork repairs and paint….to help you decide whether to pick up the phone and book an appointment or run for the hills!
My initial impressions from seeing pictures of this car were that it’s had a cheap respray and fit up (note lack of front splash guards for instance) in readiness for a speedy sale…however, the accompanying bills suggest rather more has been spent on this vehicle in recent years. Hence the supporting documentation can, excuse the unintended pun, paint a slightly different picture.

Having spent loads of money why would you delete the door mirrors and be satisfied with details such as this.....?

"The wheels are in fine fettle and the tyres look to have plenty of life left in them."
.....even though Pirelli haven't made the P4000 tyre since 2011....

Nothing could be further from the truth! Apparently I have more than enough Jensen projects. Who knew that there was such a thing???

They say it is being sold with "No Reserve" and a guideline price of £25k to £35k
So should be very interesting what it bids up to !
