Re: Issue with Firefox

Post by zacmarshall »

This is a known issue.

I had to block access to the members' list which resulted in people not being able to click on the username.

Assuming I don't have to work this weekend I will sort this out and get back to the Firefox / forum in WordPress issues

See viewtopic.php?p=268922 for a workaround

Btw, as I continue not to use Firefox, how about changing the heading of this thread to: Forum problems and work arounds/solutions. Cus the problem ain’t just Firefox.

Please note that the member list issue should be sorted now. Any issues let me know.

That only lasted a few days and then back as it was. I now have an updated laptop and are using two browsers. Google and Mozilla Firefox. The forum only opens with Google. Firefox will not open it at all, no matter how many reloads.

Firefox will open them Mike, but only if you do what I explained last time, have 3 pages open and just keep loading them over and over again with the webpage..it's a struggle but will open in the end..I think this is how it will stay now Mike, as we sort of knew all the way along..it was never going to be any different My Ole Fruit, just aload of "Hot Air"

Hi Grant, it has certainly raised the old blood pressure to danger limit many times in the past and am only hoping that I will still continue to be able to open it with Google.
Mainly I blame Microsoft for making each update more complex than the last and then conning people to buy it !! I always reckoned that Windows XP was the best user friendly system that they produced.

Hi all,
I'm a Firefox user on a Mac and now experience an ongoing issue with opening the Forum page. When I use Quick Links>>New Posts to see the latest posts I get a completely black screen with a scrolling whte bar. It allways takes numerous attempts at refreshing the screen to get back to the board Index. I haven't experienced this issue on any other sites i use. This greatly distracts from my use of the site and is one of the reasons I now post infrequently.

This is exactly as has been experienced by many of the JOC Forum users for the last year or more. So far no solution has been found other than using another browser which is very inconvenient.

Scrolling back in time, it is nearly 3 years now that the problem first showed up.

For me it was quite obvious that it wasn't going to be resolved Kees, as we sort of knew all the way along..it was never going to be any different My Ole Fruit, just aload of "Hot Air", for me using so many different webpages and having them all open at the same time and flicking from one to the other, then using another web-browser for me and obviously yourself aswell it's not really an option :? ...Never mind..such is life and changes ayeImage
