Hello All,
I’m new to automatic transmission troubleshooting but my transmission has started doing something new. I’m also a fairly inexperienced mechanic so virtually everything I experience is new to me.
I have the car up on jack stands to (try to) change out the exhaust. When I started it up to test the new pipes on one side, I noticed the rear wheels were spinning about 1 revolution per second or so. This hasn’t happened before.
The neutral safety switch seems to be working. But I have noticed “slop” in the shifting mechanism, which I attributed to a cable.
Any ideas on the source of the problem and ideas for a fix?
Thanks,
Cliff

Re: Rear wheels spin in neutral
There is nothing wrong with your car. That is perfectly normal with an automatic transmission. You have the car in neutral. Don't try to fix something that is not broken!
