She’s Alive!!! Almost 10 years gone and she is running nicely, though probably a little rich!
Took me all day today to iron out the niggles - stripped the distributor, new ht leads and new plugs and she became more compliant!
Thought I’d have a beer to celebrate, but just before I did I found the next problem... 9.5 years as a non-starter and runner seems to have allowed my clutch to forget its duty! Probably seized to the flywheel - guess that’s a job for tomorrow!!

Re: My JH1... needs a bit of work...!!!
Well - I keep promising updates, and keep failing to deliver!
So here is a big one... ish.
As I said at the beginning, I was never trying to get her concourse - I wanted her running and back on the road.
So over the last year I have had most of the body panels off and (eventually) the engine out. The poor quality/damaged body panels were replaced with better ones, as was the bonnet and boot lid (as I had ones to match the colour of the replacements bodywork). What was left of the original body panels have been resprayed to match (as close as possible) the replacement ones, and she is now all one colour - not the red or white I was expecting, but yellow. Wasnt expecting to like it, but I love the yellow - this shoudnt surprise me as the first JH I saw was a Yellow one (at the Ally Pally in 2000) and thats why I ended up with a JH in the first place.
Her steering has been rebalanced and she is driveable again... though not yet ready for MOT I think as I want to tweak a few things first.
I've also been working on the interior to make it a little more original, though my replacement door panels have speaker holes in them which I dont like, but I can sort that at a later date.
Annoyingly I have lost the bolts for the sunvisor mounts and cant fins anything to replace them with at the moment, but thats a small thing at the moment!
Anyway... this is her this afternoon:
Have to say - its been a long few years (an 10 since the accident), and she is FAR from perfect but its almost 'Job Done' and hopefully I'll be able to get her out and about over summer

Well done matt. Looks cool. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy driving it plenty soon.

It’s been a few years since she has properly seen the light of day… but took her out for a short trip today to brush off the cobwebs! Came back with a list of rattles/squeaks I need to find and fix, but other than that she drove fabulously - had forgotten how much fun she is to drive!
Have a few rust bubbles to sort over the rest of the BH weekend - but hopefully not too much work ahead of the summer!
