It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Doug Simmen has passed away and unfortunately his funeral was last Monday. I'm sure you will all remember him at our monthly meetings eating his dessert by the time we arrived. A really nice bloke. Doug was a member of many car clubs, and they are proposing to have a memorial run in his memory around April. A good friend of his Adrian is going to keep me informed about this event.

This morning we held a meeting in memory of Doug with the Aston Martin Club. Ferrari Club and the Porsche Club and raised more than £800 pounds for the Mind Charity. Doug helped out with a few racing teams who brought a few race cars & bikes to the meet. He also raced his BMW's and some of the Trophies were on display. There was a great turn out from our area.
