A dilemma
A dilemma
What would you do?
I listed some parts here for an Interceptor. The parts were new and I offered them for free. Just pay the shipping charges. Several JOC members responded positively. I unpacked my parts, laid them out, photographed them so the "buyer" could see what he was getting. I determined the shipping costs and received the OK and mailing address from the member to whom I had emailed the photos. I carefully packaged the parts, took them to the post office and sent them expecting to see my costs reimbursed to the tune of CDN$84.
The parts were received in the UK June 7. Said member has not paid and now refuses to acknowledge my emails and private messages sent on this forum.
Trust me; it's not the $84. It's the other members who could have used the parts and were cheated by a fellow member.
Cheers

I understand your point Britboy. From what you have said it is not behaviour befitting of our club. Feel free to PM me.

Re: A dilemma
It’s happened to me too.
Upon recorded delivery threat of publication contact suddenly resumed with a tidal wave of excuses of the ‘My granny fell off her motorbike’ variety.
I hope all goes well from now on.

Re: A dilemma
Brit & Barrie (and Karan) should touch base. If it’s the same person, then they should be exposed, as that takes it to a different level….

Good idea Rocky and astute. Britboy and Barrie - what do you think? I understand if you want to keep private.

Re: A dilemma
Terrible behaviour. They should be removed from this forum and the club unless there is a realistic explanation.

Re: A dilemma
There's always two sides to a story. Perhaps you should wait for the outcome before making such sweeping statements.
This sort of thing has happened from time to time. Usually a quiet word resolves it.

Re: A dilemma
You’re quite right Keith!
I think I let my cynicism take over in view of the excuses I received.
I’m sure Britboy will be luckier.

You are correct. That's why I said "unless there is a realistic explanation".

Re: A dilemma
By way of background, 3 or 4 members had expressed interest in my unused set of sheepskin seat inserts. I responded to the first one. He is the one who has reneged. He may have lost interest or found the inserts don't quite suit his car. But still.......
I have sent him an email indicting I will reveal him to the forum if I don't hear from him this weekend. If it comes to that, perhaps another interested member near London can secure a new set of inserts for himself?
Cheers

Perhaps someone who had expressed an interest in this set of sheepskin inserts, might try to touch base with him. I can forward his home and email addresses via PM if required.
