Just how rare is the Interceptor, where are they all?

Post by Blue-SP »

Not sure if I should post this in events or general topic so have done the latter

Went to the Brooklands Museum delayed New Year Gathering, to say it was packed to the limit. They were parking Classic cars in the Supercar paddock which was borrowed from the offices which were not open on Saturday, would estimate with all the coming and goings of Classic vehicles there were in excess of 2,000+ vehicles, and enough public that most vending units had run out of food by 2pm

Despite all the vehicles there I only saw 2.1 Jensens. I know they exist but they seem to be more of a rarity at any event. Aston Martin 4,5,6 two a penny, and late models whole rows of them. E types, Bentley, Armstrong Siddley all present. Sad that all these Jensens spend their lives as a recluse.

Just a few of the photos from the event

I liked your 0.1, courtesy of Guest Keen and Nettlefold!

I normally go to Brooklands but couldn’t make it this weekend. Funnily enough though I was driving across Walton Bridge and an Interceptor (it was turquoise) went the other way following a Cobra. Perhaps they’d been to Brooklands?

Take a closer look at that Rover P5B, and you'll spot your 0.1 of Jensen.

All Good Grant but no Virage spoiler yet, Autosport said they had one in the USA but then said they didn’t. Oselli chap at the Classic Car Show said he worked on the wide body development and he thought it was a Cosworth spoiler but that didn’t work out either. I will get there one day, just putting new headers from Robey’s on my SP, the ones that we modified from a BB Mopar set melted the gasket and distorted the flange on the header so I am hoping that the new ones will work better, also taking out a a couple of bends so it breaths easier. Hopefully it will be back on the road soon. Had to take a mortgage out but they do look nice.

Aston had a trip out to Cars and Coffee Morning at Bordon today

Hopefully it will be a get back to normal year.

Take Care John

Yes the Robeys headers I believe come from JP Exhausts and I have them on our convertible and another Mk3 we used to have, they're great and do a good Job, you normally have to "Cut & Shut" the brace that holds the steering bracket bush though, but it is a very simple adaption to a piece of 25mm angle JohnMan  Good Luck with it all and if you ever find a set of 17" X 9" Hoops don't let any other bugger have them please JohnMan!!!  Kindness to you and yours..GrantImage
