Just changed the oil hoses, which date from its build in 1971.
Can any one confirm that front facing connection goes to the bottom of the oil canister and the side one goes to the top connection on the canister.
Seemed obvious, then doubt creeps in.

oil pump to canister connections on FF111
Re: oil pump to canister connections on FF111
Thats what I have on my 383 Mk3 (non-FF), into the lower fitting and out of the upper one, but for a check, oil should flow into the outer of the filter and out of the inner. Whatever matches that (assuming you have the remote oil filter housing on the wing in an FF?)
Hope it helps.

For those not in the know, you can re use the old crimped on fittings and just replace the hose. Most hydraulic shops will do this, then that nice aluminium tag with the date on can go on the new hose. With DIY kits you can also re-galvanise the fittings too. The same goes for the power steering hoses. (Edit: On our MK1 FF we used a modern new type hose from Robey with modern fittings. We have the old one though to rebuild, it is on the todo list. Back then, 1995, Robey were selling power steering hoses with the original style fittings, we fitted one of those which is still going strong.)
