In the write up they refer the P66 'Interceptor'' and the P66 ' Interceptor' Convertable then refer to the P66 Coupe.
Could someone please clarify the reason for this.

What is there to explain?
The P66 was the proposed successor to the CV8, to be named the Interceptor. Two prototypes were made, a coupe and a convertible. The coupe survived and is for sale.

I remember at the NEC 2015 show the then owner Derek had the scuttle panel for the broken up convertible (and the doors at home) so for a laugh we advertised it for sale.

Dion, I need to correct you. The P66 was not intended to replace the CV8, this is a general misconception. It was meant to fill the gap after the AH and Tiger production ended and aimed at the US market in particular.

The actual price Derek sold the P66 for is unknown... The 200K mentioned is just an estimate of the value. The Dutch buyer could have purchased it for 150K, who knows?

Han is correct, and the first prototype, the convertible, was actually badged ‘Interceptor’ across the boot lid.

The original Jensen colour was "California Sage". This is a 1980s Vauxhall colour which is almost identical.

Thank you for your reply. I did expect it to be California Sage as seen on some Aston Martins. It would be nice to have a specific code to refer to, but I assume you do not have this available anymore?

Many years ago I remember reading a letter re. this car and I think it was a Mr. Millard , who I believe was the service manager at the time, and he was quoted as saying that it was sheer heaven to drive, but other workers reckoned it was a death trap !!

No. But it was a standard Jensen colour, so others on here may know it. A a last resort Rob Ransley, JOC member ad C-V8 owner, probably still has the paint!

Mike, that colour does look *exactly* like that 1980s Vauxhall green. It is definitely not quite the Californian Sage I remember seeing on a newly painted FF visiting Cropredy in 1996. I love Stratosphere blue, a favourite. Kermit's Interceptor. Family have a not quite Stratosphere blue FF. Maybe it is a Ford colour. Close but no cigar. Colin Holley matched it absolutely spot on, he didn't know what it was but gave me a code for future. The car was originally Regal Red & Mist Grey. It annoys me now. Definitely a 3rd world problem this colour matching.
Well Niels-Erik, my advice is raise those funds now! Low interest rates. Buy that garage! If you have one buy another! Buy and hold! Diamond hands! A heated one sounds a real delight. I have one, wasn't cheap, 20 years on never regretted it. I have never lost money buying a garage. Someone else's Jensen project is in my garage but that is a different story . I am looking forward to the day it drives (or gets towed) out in more ways than one! . Then I have the problem of what else to park in it again. Could be another Jensen. I look back and think of the cars that parked in it, the best Jensens of my life. Better times to come hopefully. I could be persuaded to rent it to you . My honest advice though is to buy that garage, your garage, or another one!
