The new magazine - an apology

Post by shaun »

I woke up early this morning and, as per normal, checked my e-mails.

There was one from our Editor, sent about 04.30 this morning.

Despite best efforts by Leah and Adam in correcting/proof reading the pdf version of the latest magazine, the printers failed to address all the required amendments.

They have been made aware of the situation and rest assured, we will not allow this to happen in the future.

So for those who may wish to draw things to our attention, we are aware and are very sorry that this has happened. Please accept this apology from the Committee.

I’m obviously not very observant as it all looked excellent and professional to me. I think our club magazine is something we can all be very proud of so my thanks to all who help pull it together in their own time.

 It would be better if this post had appeared in the Member Only Discussion subforum as it will only apply to members. Non members now will get the impression we have a sub-standard magazine. It is not! Great als always.

I should point out that the magazine is distributed to non-members such as advertisers and it it is unlikely that they would have seen the apology had it not been sent to the wider recipient area.

I can only say sorry on behalf of the dedicated team who put the magazine together that this has happened.

Hope everyone is ok with this?

I look forward to seeing my magazine as soon as it drops through the letterbox.
Thanks for the heads-up though and I shall now play "spot the mistake"!
Do I get a prize if I notice any?

I just received my copy of the latest magazine. What a brilliant issue, full of interest. I did spot a couple of the errors mentioned but in my view did not detract from the overall result. I won't be putting my answers on a postcard.
Thank you Leah for what you have done, I know you work very hard on getting it right.

I am clearly a casual reader of the magazine as I didn't notice anything untoward... Do I need to visit SpecSavers?

Ask Dominic for the address in Barnard Castle - especially recommended during lockdowns.

One that I spotted (and only because I was looking closely), 2 pictures on page 24 have the same caption. I suspect the second picture should have had a different caption. Whether this is one of the errors referred to that should have been corrected or is something else I don't know.

My previous comment was premature as I thought you were referring to the previous issue  But now having seen the current issue it looks great to me and my previous comment applies. Thanks to all involved.

The latest magazine is an enjoyable read Leah. Congratulations. I also support your desire to build the brand (oh how the brand has been tarnished by companies talking down the quality of the original offering to try and elavate their own Jensen product).

I must also congratulate you on walking the tightrope of subtly promoting Cropredy Bridge whilst delivering a generic club magazine: Cropredy cover photo, photo of Cropredy car next to your Welcome page, Cropredy advert next to content page, and same car featured in Owner Stories.

Not a criticism, just an observation. Hopefully other cars/companies which meet the criteria of building the brand will also feature prominently in future.

Stuart
