Interceptor Adverts and Articles

Post by Series3Jensen »

All

In my quest under the Interceptor Registrations Topic, i have started to collect a number of adverts and articles on cars where i have managed to link them to Interceptor Chassis Numbers
Generally these are adverts and articles not already in the JOC Magazines and some date back over 40 years

I am proposing to list the Chassis Numbers where i have information and would be happy to scan and e-mail, or post the originals to the current car owners in order that this history stays with the individual cars

The list of Chassis Numbers is already in excess of 100 cars and continues to grow as i am able to piece together the information collected
If Members are able to provide me with details of the current car/chassis number that they own, i may be able to link further adverts and articles

A list of Chassis numbers will follow shortly

Kind regards

Kenny

Thank you for your prompt response on 131/4592

My records show me that you have owned this car since circa 1987
Carrying Reg No 55792 H
Champagne with a Black VR and Black Interior and Louvred Bonnet, Black Coachlines and Driver/Pass Door Mirrors
6 Pack Removed ?
3 Previous Owners
The original Registration No was JLG 133K

I am not sure if my quest will take me back to Pre 1976 when the car appears to have been Exported to Australia as earliest information i have only dates back to 1979
but my quest continues

If i find out anything more i will message you

Kind regards

Mine has travelled a lot round the UK and across to the foreign shores of the Isle of Man.

Nothing fancy just a 1973 J series: 1973 Interceptor Mk III 136/8332 - Moss Green

It has changed registration number at least 6 times in its life as it was fed a life of private number plates and then was put on its age related plate when it came back from the Isle of Man 20+ years ago.

I admire your record keeping there Jim....not my thing to be that analytical.

1973 Jensen Healey Mk 1 11362 - Magenta - Owned by Lindsey
1972 Jensen Healey Mk 1 10343 - Sadly too far gone and so now a donor car

Clive

Thank you for your reply and comments
My understanding is that your car is a nice car
This is what comes from a Quantity Surveying background!!

I have your car as being in Dorset, Essex and Wiltshire prior to the Isle of Man but most of the information i have on your car is post 2017

The numerous changing of number plates has made it very challenging for me to identify individual cars from historical adverts, but information finds a way of tying itself together
Do you have a record of any of the earlier registration numbers as i still have close to 400 registration numbers still to allocate to specific chassis numbers?

The last i heard you had your car up for sale?
I hope that this is not the end of your relationship with the marque?

Kind regards

Archie

Thank you for your reply on the 2nd SP built
I have some information on the first SP built 131/4254 but none on your car yet
I assume that you have the Richard Calver book information

I still have a great deal of information to process including information that i have not yet been able to allocate to specific Chassis Nos
If i come across anything on your car i will message you again

Hi
I see that you have my chassis number in your list 123 4088.
Interceptor mk2 I believe it was owned by a club member in Reading from around 1980 to about 2014. It then passed through a couple of hands and appeared in one or two auctions finishing with a dealer in Rugby area from whom I bought it about 5 years ago.
I have spoken to the long term owner as I discovered his mobile number on a receipt in the paperwork file.
I also know that Jensen sold my car, which at the time was silver/grey with a black vinyl roof to a company called "Vernons" (not the footie pools company) who were a import/export company (now defunct but on the net).
What I do not know is who owned my car after Vernons but before Reading as I believe that it was then that it's colour was changed from Silver/Grey to Gold. I also believe the registration has been changed.
If you can help please let me know.
