Status Frank Schwartz

Post by thomaslk »

Today i read the following post in the Jensen-cars Google group/mailing list:
As Frank assisted my son when he bought his Jensen GT in Tennessee i feel somehow close to him and think it is ok to share this non-favourable info ...
Thomas

Hello all,

This is Patten, Frank's daughter. Dad was moved to hospice care today. I know a few months ago, I wrote to tell you all that he was on the mend and he has had his ups and downs these past few months. On 10/6 he went back into the hospital and went downhill from there. As he told me today in one of his few moments of clarity....he's just "worn out". He is not in pain but his body is failing. Please say a prayer for his peaceful transition. I know Aaron Gross and Jeff Peterson will be waiting for him. I will post information on his on-line memorial service that we are planning on 11/4 (the day after his 95th birthday). If anyone has any pictures or stories you would like to share with me, my email address is patten1955@hotmail.com.

Those of you that know my dad (and I feel you ALL do)....he is a very special person. Over the last few days, he has asked me every time I go to see him, if we got the Silver Bullet (his beloved Interceptor) running. We did on Monday and took a video to show him....which made him smile. Now that his car is running, he can rest easy.

Very sad news.

He has done a lot of good for the Jensen Marque here in the USA.

I have his compilation of his “Tech Tips” both electronically, and in a hard copy version that came with the car!

Best wishes to Frank, his Family and Friends during this difficult time...

Frank had already been active on the Jensen Mailing List for several years before I joined in 2000, and came across as one of the nicest, most helpful people you could imagine.

I then had the pleasure of meeting Frank in person on a couple of East Coast National meets, to re-iterate Colin's comment Frank was a courteous true Southern Gentleman.

He will be sorely missed.

I have a photo of Frank at the East Coast Nationals as well. I first met Frank at the Hilton Head SC event a few months earlier. It was the first time I had seen an Interceptor, and Frank took time to answer all my questions. He was such a nice man, I will miss him as well.

I also met Frank in person at the 2018 US Jensen East meet; he was great to chat to and very free with his help/advice.

Super nice bloke.

Here he is giving Stratton Hickey some help with his Interceptor convertible:
