The forum is now live :-)

There is now a drag and drop file upload, the ability to show / collapse forms and a few other changes, see the user guide on the right for more details.

As you will also notice the forum is now imbedded in the website so you can see events etc more easily (when we eventually start having them again....)

There is an issue with large images displaying in Internet Explorer, if you really have to use this terrible dinosaur or a browser then a fix should go in this week (thought it was fixed but had some issues).

When you click on an image it will show it in a pop up, this currently shows the image sized for the pop up, I will look at changing so that you can zoom in as per the old forum. The zoom feature was using an add on that worked in a later version of the software but doesn't work on the latest we have gone to.

The club have also agreed to increase the size of images when uploaded, the original resize code I wrote was back in 2014 and screens were a bit smaller then.

Thanks Zac for all your assistance this weekend...

I would love to hear everyones feedback (good and bad) but do keep this in an e-mail rather than a long chain on the forum :) . Any problem with access/links, send a message to it@joc.org.uk and I will get back to you.

Thanks Raj!

The forum runs in what is known as an iframe within the JOC web page, basically a web page in a web page.

As the Interceptor 1 site is http rather than https then a security error comes up saying you are trying to open a non secure web page in a secure iframe. The same happens if you link to some other pages that don't allow cross site scripting. The developer used for the web site is looking for a fix.

If the page doesn't open then for the moment you will need to copy and paste the link.

There was another issue earlier which also affected clicking on email addresses, this has now been fixed.

You can also right click the web site signature and select "Open in new tab" and it will open.

Well done and thank you to those involved. I stumbled upon the Forum rules while rummaging about, are those the same old or have they been revised?

The rules have been revised and updated, ready and fit for this century! (Hopefully)

I think all Forum regulars know what "Magnolia" or "Custard" stand for by now, so you could toss a couple of those in to emulate the Automatic Censor, without breaking the rules.
"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

Deal! The word magnolia has a new meaning, for me and maybe for other forum regulars- which is kind of interesting linguistically :D
