I wouldn't know about that, I saw it in Jakarta. Perhaps the owner was inspired by the movie?

Obviously a Lambo thing:

Re: Keeping Busy Whilst Self Isolating
Last weekend finally got round to putting the front valance on the Cortina and welding up numerous holes that have been drilled around the shell that shouldn't be there.
Will hopefully get around to painting the inside, underside boot and engine bay soon, so the the big refit can begin, and how many more years that will take , God only knows

looks like a full time job - the morning cup of coffee (or tea) below the car, the coke for during the day on the front, is the third can a beer for the evening...?Kevin Birch wrote:Last weekend finally got round to putting the front valance on the Cortina and welding up numerous holes that have been drilled around the shell that shouldn't be there.

Thanks Wolfgang, you're right about the drinks, but you can't see the crisp packets and biscuit crumbs too The welding was really easy as I got my spot welder to reach most of it as per original, only had to do a small number of plug welds. It just took a day to get the panel to fit properly in the first place.
Those wheels look really good and the ramp getting some good use too.

That's nice that you have found time to some stuff to the Ole Fast Ford there Kev My Ole Fruit Bat.. Well done.. and by the way.. Wolfgang prefers to be called GangerMan..Here Kev.. What spot welder do you have then?.. I think I may treat myself to one.. I absolutely love my Mig Welder and have really got the hang of it over the past few years but I think I want to treat myself to a suitable spot welder that gets in and around but with enough power like yours must have... so put it on my Christmas list please!!.. What one do you have "Kev the Rev" please?Kevin Birch wrote: The welding was really easy as I got my spot welder to reach most of it as per original, only had to do a small number of plug welds. Hey Grant, old guy
I'm also absolutely fan of my MIG/MAG welding machine, a Rehm Synergic Pro 190-2, but seeing Kevins results I should also opt for a spot welder

Re: Keeping Busy Whilst Self Isolating
Hi Grant,
I have a very old Sealey, the actual spot welder is connected via a lead to a separate timer box the size of a mig welder. I bought it off ebay for a risky £90 about 15 years ago as it was local, but not working. Took the main unit apart and found a 240-24v transformer had gone south, so replaced it with a £9 item off ebay again, and has worked ever since
Good spot welders are very expensive, so only worth it if you are doing a lot of welding or fall lucky like me. The electrodes too are £100s but if you keep a look out on flea bay and auto jumbles you can pick up some bargains.
If you do get one, ensure you get an electrode sharpener, to keep the ends right, and ensure you have it set up correctly as the copper ends will flatten quickly if too much pressure is applied.
The last problem with them is that they are very heavy ,or at least mine is, probably due to it's age and quality.
Good hunting.

Re: Keeping Busy Whilst Self Isolating
Kevin, if I were you I'd check on the whereabouts of your own equipment. Grant looks like he's no stranger to using a jemmy to get what he wants!

Re: Keeping Busy Whilst Self Isolating
yesterday I got a new welding wire with a different specification to the one I used before. I was really amazed about the result. Inspired y you Kevin I'va also done some test welding using the spot function of my welder. First row I adapted the Amperes and the wire speed, second row the spot welding time.
If you both now say ...Wolfgang stop welding... you have to come to Belgium and teach me
