Re: Name That Car
I think it was called a Railton. (There was a prewar Railton very much in the style of a Jensen, with a big American engine).
"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

It does not look to bad but for those headlights. Otherwise a bit bland, but fairly neat.

My word, that really is hideous. The hard top version looked "OK" but, this drop-top....

completley agree Martin. It looks slightly less hideous when it loses the dreadful rear wheel cowl (excuse the crude cut & paste):Martin R wrote:My word, that really is hideous. The hard top version looked "OK" but, this drop-top....

Re: Name That Car
They somehow look quite different although similar but, I stand by my comment that the blue one is hideous.colin7673 wrote:The red one, the picture I posted is a convertible, it's just the roof is [up?]Martin R wrote:My word, that really is hideous. It's possibly marginally better with Andy's cut and past removal of the rear wheel cover...

Re: Name That Car
I believe the little slits for the headlights were for use at night, during the blitz.
I have an XJS as a daily driver, and will definitely not be converting over.

why thank you I try. I also noted the Freudian slip where I mistakenly miss-spelt Citroen implying it was a lemon.kees wrote:That is an insult of the highest order!!!RAP72 wrote:I keep seeing citron DS - maybe it is just the rear wheel covers.
