Steering wheel re furbished as the colour had worn off on two thirds of the wheel.I used a 'Porsche' steering wheel refurbishment kit from eBay.
The kit includes a stripper, degreaser, leather dye and sealer.

If you haven't yet replaced your tyres, I can recommend the Blockley 205 70 WR15. Original size and perform very well and good price.

I changed them for modern 215/65 Michelins and the car feels much better on the road than the previous 215/70 Pirellis. The speedo is now correct too, as it was underreading before.

Originally registered 4th August 1970? Mine was originally registered 23rd July 1970, just about 11 days before. Will have been in the factory at the same time. No aircon I notice.

The previous owner removed the aircon, I have the compressor and pipework in a bag in my shed! The remaining pipework still runs through the bulkhead though.

I am thinking of re instating it in the future , but will need to fit a new dashboard switch, as it was deleted, when the centre console was previously retrimmed. The dryer and condenser etc were also removed and will need replacing....I contacted Fenair and they can supply what's needed, with a more modern compressor.

It was actually first registered on 1st August 1970 according to the log book.

So is your chassis number close to mine?

I can recommend Fenair upgrades fo the A/C. Had this system fitted for the US trip last year. We was in the upper 80s lower 90s most of the time and FenAir system worked a treat in our MK111 Jensen Greenhouse
Only working half a day now.

I've now fitted a replacement dash clock which was supplied by Kees.
I had to replace both the earth and live wires, taking a feed off the rear of the stereo as both were not working.

I will replace the stereo with one with green illumination eventually.
